Why PGI convenes it
An automated recommendation, a service redesign or a decision to share information can change a person's access to care, housing, education or benefits. Those decisions require evidence, appropriate authority, clear responsibility and a meaningful route to challenge or remedy.
The Summit creates a working setting to examine those requirements with people who understand different parts of the problem.
Four shared pillars
AI and Public Trust: What may we automate, under what conditions, and what must remain a human responsibility?
Risk, Governance and Accountability: Who authorizes the decision, owns the outcome and provides a remedy?
Workforce and Service Transformation: What must workers be able to understand, question and override?
Community Authority and Connected Systems: Who has the right to shape the decision, govern the information and define acceptable consequences?
Two days, with a practical next step
Day One examines the decision through evidence, competing interpretations and realistic cases. Day Two establishes conditions for action, identifies responsibility and applies the method to a participant's own context.
Participants develop a working decision memorandum for the following 90 days. The participation fee includes the complete two-day Summit, advance materials, facilitated hearings and decision rooms, daytime meals and refreshments, PGI's institutional decision tools, and one implementation session at approximately 90 days after the event.
Plan your participation
First Acceptance Rate: C$1,595, available to accepted participants who confirm and pay by February 28, 2027.
Standard Participation: C$1,795, available from March 1 through July 31, 2027, subject to capacity.
Final Participation: C$1,995, available from August 1 through September 10, 2027, if space remains.
The Summit website explains the application process and additional pathways for institutional teams, eligible small nonprofit or community organizations, supported participants and commercial providers.
Beyond the two days
The Institute carries these questions through the year through research, Academy learning, Membership and Advisory. Further institutional learning and implementation support can be explored separately, according to the work an organization needs to do.
